Download Issue

Recommended Posts

So i watched a stream on this game and decided it was worth the money and went to download it.

Got it all started and was excited to play it today.

Went and ran a few errands and came back and it still showed it was on 14% and "almost finished" at the bottom of the screen.

I thought maybe my internet was just being slow so i let it sit for about an hour before checking on it again.

No luck. So i deleted all files, restarted my computer and tried again with the same result.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello @Nommy I answered you on Discord, but if you continue to have problems, please let us know.

Only other thing I can think of right now that may cause a problem is Anti-Virus or Firewall. We do have a way to help with those issues as well.

Please follow these instructions to help resolve those issues:

  1. Close the updater (launcher)
  2. Go to the launcher`s folder
  3. locate file version.txt and open it in plain text editor (like notepad or notepad++)
  4. Change variable  value with the updated url from http to https
    From: url = http://edge.theuniversim.com/internal/updates/
    To: url = https://edge.theuniversim.com/internal/updates/

I tried to do this and received a pop up saying access denied.

Access denied when trying to change the file? If that happens, make sure the launcher is completely closed. You may also want to check the read only flag on the file. If that doesn't help, then try rebooting and try changing it again.

If any of that doesn't help being able to change the txt file, then you have a permissions issue with your PC and may need to open your text editor as an Administrator.
