  1. Black screen

    When I launch the game from steam I have a black screen, but the music is present. I'm on Linux Mint, in french. I join my Player.log, maybe it could help Player.log

SUMMARY Game crashes after clicking 'start new life' REPLICATION Start game (from command line or steam, with or without steam overlay) Theres some music but with a black screen (presumably splash screen not loading) Then menu appears - rotating planet and all (very pretty) Click on 'new game' Game exists while displaying cute loading messages OS mint 19 (based on ubuntu 18.04) fully updated (2 day old fresh install as it happens) GeForce GTX 980M with nvidia 390.48 drivers OTHER NOTES Missing libs messages in Player.log The\ Universim/The\ Universim_Data/Mono/x86_64 only has these files: libMonoPosixHelper.so libmono.so Tried uninstall and re-install, and verification no change *** There are two other reports like this one attached to even though they are not for a mac and they are reporting a different problem. Perhaps @dissonance and @Haeffound 's posts should be moved here? or maybe they can just '+1' with a link to their other post Player.log
  3. Crash on linux

    Hi there, I just bought the game on Humble Bundle, and installed it via Steam, but it crashed when I try to play it. It starts and I can get into in the settings, but when hitting "start new live" it start loading and soon after it crashed. This is the last of the log (when starting Steam via terminal) did not copy everything from when the game started because that is long. Are there any dependencyes for the game I need to install? I have installed mono, and all other Linux games work fine (except 1 or 2). Is there maybe someone who found an fix? And another question, I was thinking, if it maybe work when using the stand alone launcher, is it possible to use the key in steam and stand alone launcher? Properly not, or can I without the key getting band or something? OS: Solus 3.9999 (4.17.17-87.current) GPU driver: NVIDIA 390.77 CPU/GPU: i7-4790K / GTX 980
  4. Game is crashing after loading is finished when starting new game. Probably the game is looking for the steam libraries in wrong location or the libraries are missing. Player.log EDIT: I'm using Fedora 28 x86_64.

Wrong resolution and missing detection of cursors movement for fullscreen mode Version of the current build: 0.0.18-7468-201708011185358 Operating System: Archlinux (4.12.3-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Sat Jul 22 15:32:02 UTC 2017 x86_64 GNU/Linux) Brief BUG/Glitch Description: Default configuration don't set correctly resolution for fullscreen mode and game start with resolution 100x100 which generate graphics noise of background with correct cursor. If you set wrong resolution (bigger size) at prefs file then game correctly set good resolution but at fullscreen isn't detected movement of cursor. If I set window mode, then everything works even later I switch at graphics settings (at game) to fullscreen mode. Only issue with switching is size of controls at game and lost texturing, but that should be different bug. How do you replicate this issue EXACTLY (Required!): I deleted original configuration's directory at ~/.config/unity3d/Crytivo Games Inc_/, also all data (for simulate fresh install). Then I started launech, downloaded data and click on button "Start". At attachement is prefs configuration file which was generated and make wrong behavior.   6. Linux build under Ubuntu 15.10

    Linux version crash on some machines with integrated GPU under Ubuntu 15.10, we suspect shaders problem. After crash the process still resides in memory in sleeping state. We are aware of the issue and will fix it as soon as possible. As a side effect of this situation, launcher unable to patch the game while it is _formally_ executed, so you can get "Unknown error: text file is busy" message while running launcher from console. This situation should NOT happens on clean game exit.

    This is probably a missing dependency issue and not a bug, but I cannot play which is disappointing.   8. Linux launcher and updater

    Dear players! You can download Linux version of the game launcher and updater here: http://edge.theuniversim.com/installer/linux/TheUniversimLauncherLinux.tar.bz2 1) Unpack the archive on your desktop or any other directory where you have write permissions (and free space). 2) Run the file named TheUniversimLauncher - this is Mono-bundled executable. 3) Enter your game key 4) Update your version to the latest one. 5) Run the game Please, note: to comply Mono license, we provide unbundled executable TheUniversimLauncher.exe in the same directory. You can run it using latest Mono runtime. Bundle is 64-bit executable and tested under Debian Jessie. Also, note, launcher will run 64-bit version version of the game, you can run 32-bit version of the game manually, it is in the directory "The Universim".
