    We already implemented the ability to construct buildings by using the telekinesis god power. So similar to how in black and white you could grab trees etc and use the resources to build buildings, we have the same approach. So initially you will have for example Telekenesis, Le Cupidon + Rejuvenile god powers unlocked. As you will get stronger, you will get the ability to unlock powers that will allow you to create oceans, plot trees etc.

    This is coming. As your civilization progress forward, they will do more and more stuff autonomously. I like some of ideas here. What do you guys think if we will be unlocking god powers based on your actions ? For example as you do more actions people will be getting faith in you, or they will hate you. Obviously, as more people have faith in you, the more temples they will build and pray to you. As they pray, you will be getting stronger and stronger and you will unlock new god powers this way or another option is obviously way easier and as it was mentioned above - "develop faith through the research tree".     Currently we consider removing it and use it as one of the prayers that nuggets will still build. This is something that is pretty sad to remove, but it was correctly said, that it breaks an immersion too much.

    Hi Guys, Due to numerous requests that we received from you, here we will provide current prototypes & ideas that we considering to implement and working right now for the Research based on your feedback. Please note that some of those prototypes are very ambitious and we would love to implement them, but they require a lot of man power and time, which unfortunately we don't have. So please consider that even though after finalizing the approach which we will take on that, we might still will have to cut some things from it due to time constrains. Also, this is something that we are planning after steam release, not before. Don't hesitate to post your ideas and thoughts about those prototypes. Constructive critics are also welcome.     So I will briefly let you know what were our thoughts. 1) Move away from the good / bad good. Keep one system which is belief. Based on that system, have god powers unlock. Some of them will be unlocked immediately, but not all of them. 2) We thought about creating sacrifice altar and altar where people can pray to you in order to increase the speed of points regeneration. Again, this is just some of our thoughts. We are open to other things.

    Kerby can you please drop your ideas & suggestions to the specific topic that threeheaded monkey created. This topic is for the research and we are moving away from it right now with the faith system. As you mentioned, there were a lot of ideas, but a lot of them didn't have any restrictions. Like I mentioned before, ideas are great, but now we need ideas that have boundaries and restrictions. We all can probably write a book. Maybe it won't be professional, but we still can let our mind flow. The issue is to keep it small, sweet and interesting. So as I mentioned before, lets concentrate on the 2 things: Organic approach and not overkill AI and the system. It should be intuitive, easy to understand and interesting. Later today, I will move all the ideas in regards to the FAITH system from the topic that you mentioned above, to the threeheaded monkey topic. Please, let move to that topic and not dump everything in one place, since it will get lost.

    We would like to provide the information shortly about the faith / believe system. As I mentioned before, we would like to start working on it mid June. What we would like to achieve with the Faith / Believe system is a natural feeling. Our goal is to make it work without research. If you guys would like to, create a separate topic and drop ideas about the Faith/ believe system there.Just keep in mind 2 things: Organic and not to overkill. You know from first hand experience, that people would like to get the content fast and if it is not fast, everyone is upset and says that it takes too long. I would love to see extra interesting ideas about the system.

    Thank you for the ideas. I will see what I can do with it. Meantime, you can continue just dumping ideas here. As for animations, it will be a little bit tough, just because we don't have man power right now to do them properly, but I really like that idea, so if in the future we will have an ability to get a proper person for that specifс task, I think we will go that route. Meantime, we will concentrate on improving the research and it's progression. As I am changing / adding new things to the research, I will be updating everyone on its progression as we go. I can't promise that it will be every single day, since some things require more time then others, but I will do my best to do it once or twice per week.

    Is there now, or will there ever be a way to edit the names the nuggets are given... as in, with The Sims, there is a file you can add names to, for those randomly named Sims to take from. Currently we did not think about it. It is a good idea and we might implement it to the game

    Dump all ideas here with in mind of something that we can add quickly. I see your idea about the clothes. I like it. Also, keep in mind that currently the research is still being worked on, so a lot of other perks will be added and some things might change. So I encourage everyone to drop everything right now about the research.

    you don't have tool mechanics in the game as well. it's more a "you need to invent it to unlock the next visual effect". before the invention of fire there simply is no fire in the world. a dark night and no houses can be built of course if the nuggets don't have the knowledge. This is something that we considered to tie to the temperature when it will be ready. The only issue with just visuals that take effect during particular time , is that you won't see the effect from the researched perk immediately. This is something that might confuse or do not bring any satisfaction to the player. So we should consider that as well. Note: I am not saying that this is a bad idea, just need some development, but I do appreciate your contribution. I will think what we can do here.

    With the News piece on the addition of electricity production, can you use more than one of these modes? Can we, say, make wind turbines, and the "Nugget Wheels" to produce power? No, this is where the choice will play a huge difference. You will be able to influence the inventor mind and persuade his mind towards inventing one or another technology, but not both. Each technology will influence the way your civilization will develop and you will have to deal with consequences based on that technology. Are god powers always going to be fixed from the start, or are you planning to have an unlock/upgrade system for them in the future? We are considering unlock / upgrade god powers system in the future. Since this way we can teach people how to use them and provide a goal to unlock them in different ways if they wish to do so.

    Since you have been hinting at the nugget customizer just recently, I wonder what are your plans regarding the planet editor and the object editor which both were features of the original concept? We definitely would like to add all those features to the game but only after we will finish with the core eras which are stone age, medieval age, modern age and space age. The process might go way faster based on how steam will go. If it will go well, then obviously we will expand our crew for the Universim and we will try to deliver the final project with all the features way sooner then expected.

    Thank you for taking time and creating a graph, but please, read what I wrote about the new mechanics. You have a lot of perks that currently we don't even have in the game. For example fire. What it will bring? Nuggets will start the fire themselves ? If yes, that means we need new AI, we need to make sure that they start the fire in the correct places, that means a lot of other small things. In the graph above, you have a bunch of perks like that. Please try to keep in mind that we have 1,5 month left before the steam release and we need the research to be ready by that time and that we are not only working on the research systems. There is a good saying: "Ideas are cheap. Ideas are easy. Ideas are common. Everybody has ideas. Ideas are highly, highly overvalued. Execution is all that matters. Casey Neistat" As for the faith, believe system -> we would like to keep it separate from the research tree. Research tree is more like "influencing nuggets mind". Like in the story of how periodic table was created. We would like to keep the believe system based on your actions and do not place it in the research tree.

    Try to think from every single angle. Every building requires water. If there is no pump, buildings won't be working. On the other hand well is something that is not necessarily needed immediately. If you do not have well, nuggets can go to the ocean and drink from it. If they get the infection, you have the healing god power to fight it. Think also in terms of what you need 100% and asap and what is more or less optional. I do understand what you mean, when you are saying that well should go before everything else, but this is just the view from one angle. I hope that brings some light about choices. If you have different ideas about how we can approach, I will gladly read them. Also, keep in mind that we have limited time and we can't add new mechanics for every single new perk. Think how we can utilize things that are already in the game first.

    In all kindness and no discussion. Only a feedback to your answer. It did not work because nobody from the devs cared about the section. Only somtimes if it was a technical problem a dev showed up. Once in a while Mirror showed up too but as other Kickstarter backers know... she is a backer volunteering for Crytivo and therefore only second hand informations instead of a real dev or a real community manager. Which leads to my next question: Please, let put aside all discussions about who is right and who is wrong and stop pointing fingers. This topic is strictly for Q&A and I would like to keep it this way, so everyone who will see the topic, they can get info and not read walls of text that do not bring anything to the table. With all my respect to the community, I would like to keep the topic clean & informative. I will keep that post, but if we will continue having posts that bring negativity, I will be cleaning them. I hope you do understand. Why did Crytivo promise constant community contact "building The Universim with the Community" and does not have a real full time community manager? The company is pretty small and all our resources are going towards the development and no, I am not talking about store or publishing development but pure The Universim game development. Hopefully in the near future, we will have enough resources to get a full time community manager. When you start polls on Twitter with a few hundred people voting in the end, does the result really affect the design process? Yes, it does. A good example is the exile village. Currently we are in a process of developing a new AI & mechanics to achieve that. ~65% is done towards that. Edit: Also this is not going to be successful when there is nobody asking questions, my fellow community members! Completely agree with you. More questions, more answers, more info for everyone.

    Will there be another Q&A stream any time soon? Yes, we are planning to have a stream at the end of the month, where we can talk a little bit more about our progress. Is posting development progress on Twitter all the time not in conflict with your NO-SPOILER attitude? (Sry,couldn't resist...) It does not. There is a big and interesting surprise coming and we were working on it for some time now. Because of it, we are very cautious about the information leaks & "SPOILERS". Once we will reveal it, I hope everyone will understand why we were talking about NO-SPOILER. How far have you been in reworking research/god-aspect/faith-system? Bare bones of the research system is almost done, we just need to fix some minor visual & technical bugs so hopefully if everything goes smooth, you will see another post from me with a current look of the research system. One of the improvements of the god-aspect is being worked right now and I would say it is ~50% done as for another one, it is still a concept that we would like to discuss internally if we can pull it off in a timely manner. Faith-system is something that we will start working mid June. Does this mean, that there is an internal development build of the game with alien planets implemented ? We don't really have a "build" in that sort of aspect, we have almost everything for the alien planet generation(meshes, some aliens, different biomes, unique flora ). When the procedural planet generation was built, one of the things that we were doing is the creation of different looking planets and we were satisfied with the results.

    What are your plans to improve godly gameplay? First of all we are reworking the god mail quests system and quests for it as well as rewards for the quests. Secondly, we are reworking the faith system, exile village (which will add an enemy to the game) and we are implementing events that will force you to use the god powers, otherwise your civilization will struggle to survive. Why is the old section "Ask the devs" not used and promoted to ask the devs? Why? As you mentioned yourself, it was an old section and it did not work. I decided to try a new approach that hopefully will work better if everyone will respect each other.

    Up to modern age. So Medieval will be finished. We already have some stuff for modern age, but it is pretty early in the development so it won't make to the steam patch.
  25. Hey Antiglow, Thank you a lot for such a great post and providing to us a constructive criticism & good suggestions. Some of the things that you mentioned are being changed. For example micromanagement. As your civilization moves forward, more and more automation will be introduced. Eventually, you will have other things to care about instead of constantly placing buildings. I liked the Nugget Science idea. It is pretty cool. Currently we are brainstorming similar idea but the idea is mostly concerned with the bigger scale issues rather then square wheel. God mail was simply created for simplicity of use. The current god mail has a lot of issues and we are working on the solution to those issues. Hopefully you will like the new system more As for the transition between eras our goal will be always to try and make is as smooth as possible. We do have a lot of obstacles with that, but we will do our best to make it feel good. Again, thank you a lot for your post.
