  1. The Issues I have

So this is just gonna be a list of problems I've come across. If I come across/remember more I'll probably add them. God power scroll wheel is really out of order and I'll have to loop a bunch of times to get to the power I need. Forest god power is a lil underwhelming. It'd be a little better if it could expand like the dome shield Meteor crates, looking at the hints after they've been studied it's still anyone's guess what's in there. Hints are too vague to be any help Wood refinery: This is a BIG one for me, despite having heaps of raw wood, trees, workers etc, and making sure wood storage, lumberjack and refinery are all in v close proximity, it's been a chokehold on my civilisation for a few versions now. I can have 300+ raw wood and still only have 4 refined planks. This has been a lethal setback as upgrading critical resources like farms and water pumps is way too slow even if I select them 1 at a time. This is made so much worse when they're diverting even more resources into upgrading the huts into tudor mansions. Society grinds to a halt. It makes the medieval phase really drag on for no good reason. I've checked to make sure there's space in storage too so I know there's no backlog choking up production too. Ministers: Okay this is the other one. I've been so keen on ministers to take the load off my shoulders but it seems the only ones who do their jobs are the medical and education ministers, I get swamped with hospitals and universities (but not schools or cemetaries) and usually at a really bad time because my resources are trying to cope with upgrading from pre/ to medieval as it is. It's always those two, no matter if I save and reload, fire and rehire them, they're all college graduates, or I start a whole new game. The others don't do anything at all and I doubt it's because I'm doing so great. Wandering Nuggets: For some reason, despite having loads of food, stone and wood from renewable sources, Nugs keep wandering to the farthest reaches of the planet to hunt more down from the wild, often times taking them so far away they die of starvation or thirst before they get back. Hunters do the same thing because animal populations are so scarce so I only use hunting for the first winter then destroy it. To end on a positive though, I love the direction the game is heading in and I can't wait to finally enter the modern age (4th times a charm) and see all the new content you've made. Love this game so much and I know it's going to be amazing.
  2. Too Quick Gameplay?

I found the transition to pre-medieval really satisfying tbh. I have no objection to other criteria being met and having stone huts with modern houses is quite jarring but like, just from stone to medieval is on point in my opinion. Pre-Medieval to Medieval however feels like an eternity due to some problem with refined planks production and the constant syphoning off of resources to upgrade huts to tudor houses. It brings everything to a grinding halt and has killed more than one planet for me. (I explain the issue more thoroughly in my own post). Because of this, my world will stagnate and resource shortages are exacebated by the increasing drain of a still growing population and my inability to upgrade/build more vital buildings like pumps, reservoirs and farms. It takes so long that I get bored and skip ahead to the modern era and I don't think I've ever finished a single factory because the resources (always refined planks) are never there.
  3. Adding a military

Thanks for the feedback. I've got a lot of faith in this game. Crytivo has hit the nail on the head for everything I wanted in a game like this, even when I didn't know what I wanted so I know there'll be an awesome solution either way. Going to jump on v29 right now and check it out.
  4. Adding a military

I just watched the live stream for v29 and someone asked if there would be a militia that could be sent to fight other nations. The concern was it turning into a strategy/fighting game and I think there's a middle ground. With the ministry of defense I think it would make sense for there to be defense forces in the modern age but what about a diplomacy building? Basically, when a new tribe is founded you could choose a positive, neutral or aggressive stance against them. If you choose positive you can implement trade through, I think it's called an envoy? and you could choose which resource to trade for what. If you choose neutral you take no action and just leave them be and with aggressive, the military units would automatically rally forces. Just like hunters, they'd just do it all themselves. You simply choose your stance and let it go. If that's your only input then hopefully that would avoid it turning into a strategy war game? To step even further away maybe you could have nuggets set as diplomats who decide the stance independently. I'm sure there's probably issues with my idea but I also think it's a good potential starting point for a perfect middle ground.
  5. Question about Leader and the boni

I thought they stacked. D: Well at least now I can make better choices now I know.
  6. [Suggestion] Auto Upgrade Buildings

I suspect upgades would be a part of the ministry's responsibilities. From what the live stream suggested, that could be as early as V30 or V31.
  7. Military Suggestion

The idea that being at war or maintaining a military is detrimental to society is awesome in my eyes. I made a post with an idea for implimenting a military and I think this idea would work really well with it in tandem.
  8. My thoughts

So far the new update is great. Smoothest game play yet, I really like the new happiness system. In previous versions I'd put down just a couple tents and forget about it but this one feels more involved. That said, it's not perfect. The biggest issue are the bunkers. These are meant to keep Nuggets alive and safe and as my population grows I will have no choice but to place more, as such having them have a value of -20 makes keeping a population happy nigh impossible because holy damn that stacks fast. Logically they should really have a positive value in my opinion but if they have to be negative they should only be -5 or something. I needed 8 to safely house all my Nuggets. That's -160 and my happiness dropped to <0 despite it being well over 100 before them. If you make them -5 then it would be -40, much easier to handle. With such a huge negative stat to overcome, the only effective option was to flood my village with lizard candy, cowsmetics and others. It's a big drain on resources and time, and it doesn't feel like good gameplay. (spammy). Raising the value from -20 to -5 would probably fix all of this but alternatively maybe add other ways to improve happiness outside buildings. Maybe increase happiness by 1 to celebrate twins or research items that can further raise happiness values, even a little would go a long way. There's just one other thing and it's something I've wanted since v11. A "Generate New Planet" button! Since the planets are randomly generated some can really suck while others are perfect. If you get a crappy one you have to completely close and reopen the game which is a pain and working on an unfavourable map can and will obliterate your civilisation when you start expanding and need access to mountain biomes. Pleeeaaassse consider adding this button. I will love you forever. Outside of those two things I'm super happy with how the game is evolving, it hardly feels like the same game I bought nearly 3 years ago. <3 you all Crytivo Crew!
  9. Ask Us:

Sorry, I was a bit vague. I was referring to the ministry of defense, agriculture, energy etc. Automating the construction of all those buildings.
  10. Ask Us:

Will a basic government system be implemented with the november update or will it be a longer wait?
  11. Water problems

faith could spread via generations? That's pretty much how it works in reality and each generation would expand faith not just continue it.
  12. Sign the petition!

Firstly, there's no petition. Sorry to disappoint. But before you wander off all sad like I want to say CONGRATULATIONS! to every single member of the crytivo crew. Every one of you have done a simply amazing job bringing your vision to life. It's beyond amazing, to see how much hard work, dedication and love has gone into not only the universim itself but everything that has come out of it. Even the company itself has come so far since I joined the forums roughly 2 years ago. so again, congratulations. Second I want to give you my sincerest thanks. This game has given me something to wait for, something to look forward to and endless hours of enjoyment in a harder part of my life and I bet I'm not the only one. But not only that, throughout all the work you've been doing you've always kept your backers and your fans at the heart of everything. With the way mainstream gaming has changed, it's great to feel like I'm valued and listened to. It's far more than I ever expected when I first sank money into it. (I regret /only/ spending $300 xP) Lastly I want to say good luck. With such a huge milestone coming up I know you're all working your absolute butts off to get the game to a whole new level and I can't wait! I have complete faith in all of you and I just wanted to put it out there to remind you that you are appreciated and loved (not in the creepy way... Probably). If anyone else feels the same you should definitely leave a comment for the team to see. No advice or suggestions. Just words of encouragement and support. Love, (I /promise/ not in the creepy way) Lissa <3
  13. Sign the petition!

    Oh, that's easy. 4am.
  14. New Residential Block

They're fully aware about the engineer issue as it's been the #1 bug for this version. They'll be sure to get it resolved for the steam release because they're focussing on getting this game ship shape and ready to go so probably no need for a rant.
  15. New Residential Block

I think it has to do with the fact they build in a radius to the evolution tower so if the circle reaches the other side, that's where they'll go. I typically take it as an opportunity to build a whole second village with wells and farms etc, I also set up eateries along the way. So far nuggets are too dumb to use them but eventually the issue will be resolved one way or another.
  16. April/ May Update

Ahh, I thought that might have been the case. All good.
  17. April/ May Update

Not sure what that has to do with my comment. I'm just saying it'll be worth the wait. Not made any comment about keeping us informed or anything else.
  18. The Price of Godhood: Power Costs

Happy to help, I /kind of/ like how effective the animal attacks are for the one reason it gives us something to work for instead of just automatically having flawless defense but aside from that they're absolutely awful.
  19. I had a thought last night about how to make things feel more godly. I think it'd be amazing if a god power were implemented wherein you could place obelisks or relics, some sort of holy objects that Nuggets would turn into temples. The more temples the more worship, the faster god points were earned. I think coupling this with idle nuggets randomly worshipping at these temples would add that godly touch people are asking for and offer a more direct link between the player and the lil nugs. Sort of similar to age of empires but still uniquely universim.

  21. April/ May Update

The last time there was a delay like this they were re-writing the whole ai system or something technical from scratch and it was really, really worth the wait. This time it's dedicated to things we can actually play with! I'm not overly patient but trust, it's going to be sweeeeeet. By the way, Do you stream on twitch? What kind of stuff do you play if you do?
  22. [TWITTER] "Should we add Residential building interiors?"

I like it as an artistic sort of thing. Maybe if you click on a hut it opens up to that with the info displayed over the top, basically have the art as a background. That said, if there's a way to make it interactive and give it a point that'd be cool too.
  23. Research and Evolution

deleting thread. This is just barely concealed passive aggression and I don't want it on my thread.
  24. Research and Evolution

So I've been playing this game since version 11 and eagerly awaited the research and evolution elements of the game to be implemented and have not been dissapointed. However there have been a few minor tweaks I think would improve the feel of the game immensly. Firstly it's the order in which research appears. Mostly it's fine but here's a thought. Why can we research eateries and cemetaries which have funeral pyres before we research fire. There's 0 logic. It would make more sense if you had to discover fire to be able to research those buildings. It would allow the yellow/green/purple research to interact more directly with blue research. This brings me to my second point. Blue research appears in multiple set tiers. This makes game progress feel extremely rigid, allowing very little freedom to focus where we want to. By making yellow/green/purple research, which appears randomly, unlock related blue research, you allow players much more freedom to focus on what they want, shape their civilisation in more unique ways and remove the rigidity that the current research system has. At the moment it feels like I play the same game over and over again because I'm only able to access the same things in the same pattern each time. Aside from current balancing and AI issue which will obviously be taken care of over time, this is my only concern as this is what could remain and I feel incredibly strongly about this so I hope it will be considered for future improvements. I also have a few ideas for more research possibilities e.g. 'annual check ups' After unlocking and building the hospital a yellow research icon could appear this research could improve nuggets overall life spans by a small percentage, after this has been researched (or after hospital has been upgraded) it could unlock a purple research called 'booster shots' which could do the same thing again by an appreciable percentage. I'd love to hear your thoughts and will continue to think of other ways the different levels of research could intermingle. Edit: I feel it important to add that for my example, simply making fire a blue research would be counter productive as it adds more rigidity rather than make research feel organic.
  25. Research Prototype Panel

I guess I'm just a bit slow. Would you mind clarifying? Seeing the picture a second time didn't exactly clarify the matter.
